"Gothica - The Barnabas Chronicles"
Web Page: n/a
Game Type: Fantasy role-playing
Game System: Dungeons & Dragons, House Rules
Location: Burbank, Ca
Meetings: 1/month, Saturdays, 11am-10pm
Openings: 1
Age range: mature (all welcome, average age is young adult and older)
Description: Gothica - an island land of harsh
winter and mean souls. It is from the heart of this cursed land that
the very source of magic for all the world flows - Mana. It is no
wonder then that this land has rarely known peace. How can it when
such dark forces as Mighty Warlords, Power-Mad Sorcerers, Ravenous
Undead, Sadistic Demons and other-worldly denizens unleash hell in
their fight for supremacy and control over the Mana Source.
Supernatural forces clash here creating war and destruction on an
Armageddon-like scale. Few are those who can stand strong in such a
world. Fewer still are those who dare stand for justice and fight to
defend the weak and innocent. Even the greatest of Paladin Kings
eventually succumb to the tempations of power or fade from memory as
once-noble kingdoms crumble, fall and are swallowed by the relentless
evil that is drawn here. It is in this sorry place, this dark land
that we find bands of outlaws, raiders, hunters and crusaders - would
be heroes or villians all - fighting for food, for shelter, for some
measure of wealth and power. Damnation surely lies at the end of the
winding road but perhaps, just maybe, the inevitable fall can be
avoided. So it is that our story follows one of these bands as they
slip into a tangled web of intrigue, power and deceit. A web spun long
ago, now ready to be revealed here, in our story - The Barnabas
Chronicles.
"Qwa Vaam - Culling the Herd"
Game Type: Fantasy role-playing
Game System: Dungeons & Dragons, House Rules
Location: Burbank, Ca
Meetings: 1/month, Saturdays, 11am-10pm
Openings: 1
Age range: mature (all welcome, average age is young adult and older)
Description: Qwa Vaam - Homeland of the Orc Empire, dominated and populated by their war clans. It is the Orcs that hold dominance in this world. Within recent years humans from a far off land, driven from their homes by a great cataclysm, have landed on the shores. They survived the first years by placating the Orcs with tribute. In return, the Orcs allowed the Humans small strips of coastal land to hack out an existence from. Peace was maintained. Now that uneasy peace is threatened. Elves from a neighboring isle, long time enemies of the Orcs, have built relations with the human settlers, empowering them with their knowledge and support. Emboldened, Humans are encroaching further into Orc-held territories. Tributes are lessening. Human arrogance is growing and the Orc's patience is waning. Soon, the peace will break and war will either purge Taj Teblaw of the Human nuisance or change the dynamic forever.
"The Zombies of Lankmar"
Web Page: n/a
Game Type: Fantasy role-playing
Game System: Dungeons & Dragons, House Rules
GM (host): Mark Gabriel Infanger
(email)
Location: Burbank, Ca
Meetings: 1/month, Saturdays, 9am-5pm
Openings: 2
Age range: mature (all welcome, average age is young adult and older)
Description: The City of Lankmar - known as
the City of Adventure by some, but known more by a darker name: The
City of Thieves. Here, one must be cautious where ever one goes, lest
you find yourself the target of a petty thief - if you are lucky - or a
more desperate type of thug. Money, food, and luxury is rare in this
city, unless if you are one of the very few rich-folk who more or less
own the city. Aye, there is a "middle class" in Lankmar if you have
services that are in demand. But do not think that you are secure, for
misfortune seems to find all in this city. Here, crime lords,
criminals, dark magi, deities, and other forces vie for control of the
city. This conflict has had serious repricussions, and somehow a plague
spread in the city. Zombies, not a common sight in Lankmar but not rare
either if you look in the right (or wrong) places, have risen in
massive amounts, in a alarming period of time. The city is in lockdown,
the populace are in panic, and martial law has been called. Can you
escape from this zombie plague intact, and possibly figure out what in
the name of the Abyss started all of this? Can you stop the source and
save the city (and the world)? This is a Resident Evil meets D&D
style campaign, so bring your wits and watch your neck . . .
"Council of Wyrms"
Game Type: Fantasy role-playing
Game System: Forum RPG
GM (host): Mark Gabriel Infanger
(email)
Location: Website
Meetings: Daily
Openings:Unlimited
Age range: Open (all are welcome, average age is teen and up)
Description: Dragons, creatures of legend that
strike fear and terror into the hearts of all who witness their glory.
These massive creatures are very territorial, and even the most morally
rightious of them are greedy. This greed has caused what has been known
as Dragon Wars to ravage the draconic race as a whole. With few
survivors in all the realms - and various threats like would-be heroes
trying to make a name for themselves - extinction seems imminent. Then,
the greater dragon god, Io, sent visions to three dragons who then told
the rest about a far off island chain, called Io's Blood Chain, that
was made for dragons to live in prosperity. Dragons flocked to this new
area, hoping to escape the chaos of dragon warfare. It has been nigh
four thousand years sense the founding of Io's Blood Chain. Peace and
prosperity have reigned with only the small shadow and rare occurances
of violence . . . this shadow has gradually grown unnoticed in the
dragons' long life span, and now threatens to exterminate the dragon
race . . . the fate of the dragons remains unknown for the time being .
